Vivian Eloise Darden of Suffolk, born April 25, 1930, to the late James and Otelia Porter, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by the late Solomon Darden Sr.; her brother, James Porter Jr.; and her daughter, Norma Jean Sanford.
She is survived by one son, Solomon Darden Jr. (Jean); one daughter, Cynthia Lankford; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Porter; nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, in the Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home with James Watson officiating. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
