Okeson Darnell Galloway, 54, passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at Norton Hospice Pavilion in Louisville, Ky. Okeson was the son of the late Vernon L. and Lelia M. Galloway.

He was a native of Suffok, Va. and a retired bricklayer.

Okeson is survived by his wife, Vanessa Galloway, of Suffolk; one daughter, Ju-Dale Anderson, of Suffolk; three brothers, Dwight Galloway, of Hampton, Va., Proctor Galloway (Linda), of Richmond, Va. and Chetter Galloway, of Atlanta, Ga.; six sisters, Umeco Galloway, of Suffolk, Ternon Lee (Ezekiel), of Williamsburg, Va., Avis Carr (Julius), of Greenville, N.C., Dreese Eley, of Aulander, N.C., Conjo Whitney (Deran), of Suffolk, Va., and Melissa Perry (Nathaniel), of Edenton, N.C.; one grandson, Alize’ Anderson; several nieces and nephews; and three special friends and caregivers, Minnie Burnett, Terica Sutton and Angela Witchard, all of Louisville, Ky.
