In addition to our traditional credit classes, PDCCC summer semester offers a broad array of noncredit community-service options through the College’s Division of Workforce Development. Following are examples.

Zumba for Fun Class

Zumba for Fun is scheduled for Wednesdays, May 25 to June 22, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at PDCCC’s Workforce Development Center on the Franklin Campus. According to instructor Anika Herring, this class is the best exercise in disguise ever — helping participants lose weight and have crazy, crazy fun at the same time! The cost is $75. Register now, as the class size is limited. The deadline for registration is May 24.

Dream Your Future — Kids College 2011

Kids College is a popular summer enrichment series, offering unique workshops for rising second through 12th graders that are designed to teach new skills, develop new interests and hobbies, and explore future career opportunities.

Kids College 2011 will run weekdays June 20 through Aug. 12, with a variety of classes every week.  The extensive list of offerings is posted on a brochure on the college’s website.  It includes more than 50 distinct offerings (in more than 80 sessions) in the following categories: Arts and Expression; Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), and Student Success.

This summer, an “Early Bird” discount is available: Register by June 3 and receive a $25 discount on the total tuition. Also available are “More for Less” discount options:

• Register for three to five classes and receive $10 off your total tuition.
• Register for six or more classes and receive $20 off your total tuition.

According to Teri Zurfluh, Kids College director, the “Less for More” discount may apply to multiple sibling registrations, too. (Example: Mom registers Mary for two classes and Michael for two classes and receives the $10 discount.) Note: To receive the “More for Less” discount, you must register for all the classes at the same time.
