A former city employee has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with the July 19 assault of a 17-year-old male.

Ricky Lanney Blake, 20, was arrested on July 23 after the incident, which occurred in the 6000 block of Bradford Drive, according to city spokeswoman Debbie George. The victim was beat with a baseball bat and suffered a broken arm.

“Investigation has revealed the altercation was possibly gang related,” George said.

Blake had worked part-time with the Department of Parks and Recreation, she added.
