SUFFOLK — Walter Nathaniel Creekmore Jr., 85, of Bridge Road, died Sept. 29, 2012. A native of Portsmouth, he was predeceased by an infant son, David Kevin Creekmore. Mr. Creekmore was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Shop 67 and was a member of Berea Christian Church in Driver.

Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Creekmore; two sons, Walter N. Creekmore III and wife Jan, of Saluda, and Dr. Rufus C. Creekmore and wife Tina, of Edgewater, Md.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. in Berea Christian Church by the Rev. Joe Newman. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
