On Oct. 9, a notice was printed in the calendar section of the Suffolk News-Herald indicating that the Bethlehem Ruritan Club Inc. would be hosting a pancake breakfast for Mayor Linda Johnson.

Please be advised that this event is being hosted by an individual, Rufus Powell, who is a member of the Bethlehem Ruritan Club Inc. This event is not being sponsored or hosted by the Bethlehem Ruritan Club Inc.

It is the position and practice of Ruritan National, as well as the Bethlehem Ruritan Club Inc., that no political candidate be sponsored or endorsed.
