Suffolk woman named Chowan queen

Lesley Miles of Suffolk and Derrick Britt of Richmond were crowned Homecoming Queen and King at Chowan University on Oct. 13. They were honored at the game by Chowan President Chris White and First Lady Linda White.

A Suffolk woman was announced as Homecoming Queen at Chowan University during the school’s homecoming festivities earlier this month.

Lesley Miles, a senior business management major from Suffolk, was one of the senior class representatives and was named as the queen at the Oct. 13 homecoming game against Virginia Union University. She is a resident assistant and a member of Dynasty II, SGA and Phi Beta Lambda. She is the daughter of LaTonya Miles and Leslie Kelly.

Escorting Miles was SGA President Michael Williams of Norfolk.

Derrick Britt of Richmond was named the school’s Homecoming King.

Jordan Holden, a biology major from Suffolk, was the sophomore class representative. She is a resident assistant and the daughter of Maureen Kerr and Ethan Holden.
