Roland T. Brinkley, 61, of 425 Cullodan St., Suffolk, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Norfolk Sentara Hospital. He was preceded in death by Mamie Brinkley and Ollie Brinkley.

He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Roland was employed at American Cold Storage. He was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Sonja Rountree, of Portsmouth, Va.; one brother, Eric Brinkley, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; aunts, Eunice Little, of Suffolk, and Helen Burrows, of Harlem, N.Y.; nieces, Karen Copeland (Sterling), of Pittsburg, Pa., and Katrina Rountree, of Suffolk; nephews, Gregory Rountree (Melly), Daryl Rountree (Rita), Corey Rountree (Tresha) and Brian Rountree (Nicole), all of Suffolk; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Robert E. Rodgers. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
