The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Lady Saints dropped their season opener when they traveled to St. Catherine’s in Richmond, losing 64-46.

They were plagued by turnovers and poor shooting.

Freshman Harper Birdsong led with 12 points, junior Jessica Pieroni had 11 and junior Macy Mears added 10 for the Saints.

On Thursday, the Lady Saints travel to take on the Cox High School Lady Falcons from the Beach District.
