Harvey Edwin Russell, 69, of Suffolk, Va., passed away Dec. 8, 2012. He is the son of the late Harvey Lee Russell and Ella Mae Holly Russell. Harvey was a veteran of the Virginia Army National Guard and a member of Providence United Methodist Church.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jackie G. Russell; sisters, Sarah Copeland and Shirley Deans; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon L. and Charlene Russell and Dalton and Moreen Russell; brothers-in-law and wives, T. Hayes and Joni Griffin and Kenneth E. and Cheryl Griffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434, with the Rev. Garland Hines and the Rev. Chris Surber officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
