Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s girls’ basketball team traveled to Tabb High School Saturday and defeated the Tigers of the Bay Rivers District 52-33. The Saints led throughout, but by only seven points at the end of three quarters of play.

The Lady Saints were led by Junior Jessica Pieroni, who poured in 32 points, hitting 15 of 22 field goals and two free throws. Freshman Harper Birdsong added 10 points and nine assists, and junior Kaylor Nash pulled down eight rebounds.

The win raised the Saints’ record to 4-1. The Lady Saints are in action again tonight at home when they take on Bishop Sullivan of the Tidewater Conference.
