Virgie Marie Wilkins, 53, of 715 Madison St., Portsmouth, Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Bon Secours Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth, Va. She was a native of Suffolk, Va., and the daughter of Joe Louis Walker and the late Virgie Walker.

She attended John F. Kennedy High School. She was a member of Sixth Street Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Tomika Hoffler (Antonio) and Jovanda Totten (Torenzo), both of Portsmouth; one brother, Joe Louis Walker Jr., of Virginia Beach, Va.; eight grandchildren; 11 stepsisters; six stepbrothers; four uncles; one special aunt, Martha “Pudding” Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Sixth Street Baptist Church officiated by Pastor John A. Moore III. Interment will be in Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.
