Oscar Smith edged out the visiting Nansemond River girls’ basketball team on Friday night, 53-51.

The Lady Warriors had three players who scored in double figures, led by senior forward Sonnae Gibson with 17 points. Freshman guard Aneka Yelverton had 12 points and senior point guard Ashante Humphries added 10.

Nansemond River stays on the road Tuesday against Indian River.
