Gavin Andrew Dale, 41, was taken from this life unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.

Born in Irvine, Scotland, Mr. Dale was the son of D. Todd and Jacqueline McLean Tidwell.

Also surviving is his wife of 20 years, Sharon Macvie Dale; his daughter, Beth Dale; sons, Gavin Dale, Jr. and Callum John Dale; and sister, Fiona Chaffin and husband, Stephen and niece and nephew, Christopher and Rebbeca.

He was preceded in death in 2004 by his daughter, Taylor.

Owner of Dale Construction, he will be remember as a beloved son, devoted husband and father, brother, and uncle.

A service celebrating Mr. Dale’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in the Salvation Army Church, 400 Bank Street, Suffolk, with the Rev. Sharon Bell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be private.
