Police are looking for a man who reportedly threw a cat out of a moving vehicle on Pruden Boulevard on Tuesday.

According to police reports, a student standing outside during a break from class early Tuesday evening saw a white pickup truck with a logo on the side slow down in front of her and then speed up again while driving in the 4100 block of Pruden Boulevard.

As the vehicle accelerated, the witness saw a cat rolling along the side of the road, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink.

The cat was found dead on the side of the road.

The driver is described as a middle-aged white man with short hair.

Suffolk Animal Control is investigating, Klink stated in an email.
