City offices closed for holidays

In observance of the Lee-Jackson Day and the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holidays, Suffolk city offices will be closed Friday and Monday. Normal operations will resume Tuesday.

All Suffolk libraries and the Suffolk Art Gallery will be closed Friday through Monday.

Suffolk joint-use recreation centers will close at 6 p.m. Friday, following the closing of the after school programs for the day. On Monday, these centers will be open only for youth league athletic practices and games.

East Suffolk Recreation Center will be open Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. for after school programs. East Suffolk Recreation Center will be closed on Monday.

Suffolk’s four major parks – Lone Star Lakes, Constant’s Wharf, Sleepy Hole and Bennett’s Creek — will be open Friday and Monday, though no park attendants will be on duty.

The Suffolk Executive Airport terminal and the Suffolk Visitor Center will remain open on a normal schedule during the holiday weekend.

There will be no changes to the trash collection or recycling schedules for Friday. The Southeastern Public Safety Authority transfer station in Suffolk will be open Friday, 7 a.m. until noon or until the City of Suffolk finishes its refuse collection, and from 7 a.m. until noon on Monday. The regional landfill will be open Friday, from 7 a.m. until noon, and will be closed on Monday.
