One lane of Route 58 westbound at the Wilroy Road exit was closed early Friday morning as police worked an accident there between a Nissan Rogue and a tractor trailer.

According to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink, the accident took place at about 4:50 a.m., when the driver of the 2011 Nissan hit a patch of ice, causing her to lose control and hit the tractor trailer.

The impact punctured the truck’s fuel tank, and it spilled about 60 gallons of diesel fuel onto the roadway, Klink stated in a press release.

Klink stated the ramp could be closed for several hours.
