To the editor:

Chaining dogs is a type of cruelty. I don’t agree with dogs running loose, but there are other options.

When people get a dog as a

pet, they are adding a family member.

You wouldn’t chain your child outside nor would you leave your child outside for hours, days or weeks at a time.

If a person needs to tie their dog up outside, then they don’t need a dog in the first place.
