King’s Fork senior swimmer Danielle Jennette’s campaign to get U.S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte to go to prom did not end with him being able to go, but she still wanted to raise $2,013 for one of his charities.

Jennette and King’s Fork head swim coach Katherine Beodeker organized a swim-a-thon, and KF swim team members solicited sponsors to provide money based on how many laps they swam during practice last Thursday. The money would go to Lochte’s charity, Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy. The recently reported amount of $500 raised turned out to be significantly higher.

The King’s Fork team raised $823 to bring Jennette’s total raised to $1,233.
