Ruby Wise Cofield, 77, passed away Jan. 29, 2013, in Gatesville, N.C.

Born in Galloplis, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Kenneth E. Wise. Ruby was a member of Gatesville Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a Bible school helper. She was also an artist.

Survivors include her loving husband, Doyle Cofield; daughter, Rebekah Cofield Grimsley, of Washington, N.C.; sister, Mary W. Cook, of Roanoke, Va.; brother, Kenneth A. Wise, of Hoover, Ala.; grandchildren, Doyle Earley, Bronson Earley, Joshua Earley; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl G. Eason, of Gates County, N.C.

A funeral will be conducted on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va., by the Rev. Gene Asbill with burial following at Meadowbook Memorial Gardens.
