Gladys Hunt Lawrence, 76, of 302 Highland Ave., Suffolk, transitioned from earth to glory on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Jephthan Hunt and Bessie Hunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lawrence.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, William T. Hunt (Virginia), Alan R. Hunt (Cheryl) and Derek Lawrence (Isis); six daughters, Bessie Hunt, Gladys Hunt, Vonnie Morrison (McKinley), Andrea Lawrence, Katrina Carty (Stefan) and Pamela Reid (Gregg); sisters, Evelyn Copeland and Virginia Parker; sisters-in-law, Georgia Jones and Josephine Edwards; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Margaret Laney Cross; grand dog, Frisco; many other relatives and special friends.

A celebration of life will be held at noon, Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Oak Grove Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Anthony Copeland. Interment will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
