Beatrice Lewis, 81, of 312 York St., Suffolk, Va., died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Autumn Care of Suffolk. She was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of Beanie Hamlin and Nannie Mizell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lee Lewis Jr.; a daughter, Lucy Lewis; a sister, Essie Hamlin; two brothers, Bernie Hamlin and Richard Hamlin.

She was a domestic worker. Mrs. Lewis was a member of St. Paul R.Z.U.A. Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Dorothy Hall (Leno), of Portsmouth, Va.; four sons, John H. Beamon, of Victoria, Va., Lloyd Lewis and Elder Harvey L. Lewis III (Anita), both of Suffolk, Marvin Broadnax, of Florida; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Junius Lewis; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Lewis and Florine Lewis; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at St. Paul R.Z.U.A. Church officiated by Dr. Edward P. Foreman. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
