John Edward Simpson, 67, passed away Feb. 18, 2013. He was born in Suffolk, Va., the son of the late Walter and Elizabeth Simpson. John retired as a glass glazer from Innerspace Systems. He was an active gardener, Redskins lover, Nascar fan, and self-proclaimed neighborhood watchman on his golf cart.

John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce Byrum Simpson; son, Keith Edward Simpson and wife, Jennifer Modlin Simpson; granddaughter and apple of his eye, Courteney Elizabeth Simpson; numerous brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, aunts, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. Friends may join the family other times at the residence. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
