Maggie B. Cross, 92, of 207 Maple St., Suffolk, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at her residence. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of John Beaton and Ella Kindrick Beaton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isreal Cross.

She retired from domestic work. She was a member of New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries and the mother of the Mother Board.

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Barbara Wilson, Gloria Burrus, Rosa White, all of Suffolk, and Rebecca Cross, of Capitol Heights, Md.; four sons, Willie Cross (Delores), of Cambridge, Md., Isreal Cross (Sarah), Charles Cross, both of Suffolk, and John Cross, of Capitol Heights, Md.; 45 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, March 16, 2013, at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
