Norfolk man charged in attempted robbery

A Norfolk man was arrested Wednesday on charges stemming from a robbery attempt on Tuesday night.

Justin Dashaun Macon, 21, is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and attempted robbery.

The reported incident occurred at 10:42 p.m. Officers on patrol on Shoulders Hill Road heard gunshots and observed two vehicles and several people behind the car wash bays at the Shell gas station in the 3500 block of Bridge Road.

When the people saw the officers, they began to flee the scene. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had fled the scene quickly.

The two occupants of the vehicle said they had just been robbed, and there were bullet holes visible in the car to prove it.

Police officers found the suspect on Shoulders Hill Road, and a gun was located at the scene of the shooting.

A court date is set for May 6.
