Malinda Harrell, 89, of Suffolk, passed away April 1, 2013, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Lawson R. Armstrong and Julia Lane. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lankford Harrell Sr.; five sisters and four brothers. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Dorothy Maxwell; son, Lankford Harrell Jr. (Wanda), both of Suffolk; two sisters, Mary Jones, of Suffolk, and Margaret Sizmore, of Detroit, Mich., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The family extends special thanks to Lankford Jr.’s in-laws.

A funeral service will be held at noon Monday, April 8, 2013, at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 4901 Deer Path Road, Suffolk, by the Rev. Larry Parker. The wake will be Sunday, April 7, at 7 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home.
