GBHS defeats KFHS boys’ tennis team

Great Bridge High School’s boys’ tennis team defeated host King’s Fork High School on Tuesday by a score of 8-1, including three forfeits.

Following are the singles results:

  • Lassiter (GB) def. Williams (KF) (6-1, 6-2)
  • Patterson (GB) def. Lathan (KF) (6-0, 6-2)
  • Saylor (KF) def. White (GB) (1-6, 7-5, 10-7)
  • Medlin (GB) def. Nezat (KF) (6-0, 6-0)

Following are the doubles results:

  • White/Medlin (GB) def. Williams/Lathan (KF) (8-6)
  • Layden/Nguyen (GB) def. Saylor/Nezat (KF) (8-1)

King’s Fork hosted Oscar Smith High School on Thursday and plays at home again today against Nansemond River High School.

SCA golfers fall to 0-4

After a narrow loss in match play earlier in the week against Alliance Christian Academy, the Suffolk Christian Academy golf team was defeated 4-0 by visiting Summit Christian Academy on Thursday at the Nansemond River Golf Club.

Caleb Hayes registered the low round for SCA with a score of 41.

He was also the only member of the Knights to score a point on Tuesday in the 2-1 home loss to the Falcons.

Suffolk Christian hits the road for a rematch with Summit Christian on May 2.
