The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Suffolk and surrounding areas until 3 a.m.

A line of thunderstorms that prompted an earlier severe thunderstorm warning has weakened, so the warning was canceled.

The main danger is high winds, according to the alert.

Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. Do not drive into areas where water covers the road.
