Following are this week’s Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week nominees:

  • Hannah Fagan, junior for Suffolk Christian Academy softball — She has provided crucial leadership on an extremely young and inexperienced team. Against Alliance Christian Academy, she recorded two hits, including a triple, and an RBI, despite the 12-6 loss. In an 18-4 loss against Norfolk Christian High School, she had two hits and three RBIs and threw seven strikeouts.
  • Jessie Lerner, sophomore for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy lacrosse — She led the way in a 14-13 victory over Norfolk Collegiate School with five goals. Despite a 10-9 loss the next day to Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School, she still was an offensive force, co-leading the team in scoring by producing three more goals.
  • Ashley Roten, junior for King’s Fork High School — She was dominant offensively to help continue the Lady Bulldogs’ win streak that has turned around the season. In a 3-2 win over Deep Creek High School, she was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. In a 4-1 win over Grassfield High School, she went 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
