McCloud graduates from basic training

Air Force Airman 1st Class Marlon Trevell McCloud graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas on March 29.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-and-a-half-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airman 1st Class McCloud graduated with honors among more than 700 graduates, placing him in the top 10 percent of his class.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate’s degree in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

McCloud will continue training for TACP Preparatory Course (Battlefield Airman) at Lackland Air Force Base. He will then continue his training at Hurburt Field Florida for TACP initial skills course, then to Combat Survival Course at Fairchild AFB Washington, finishing up at Basic Parachutist Course at Fort Benning Georgia.

McCloud is the son of Marcus and Kimberly Young, Suffolk. He is the brother of Claudia Riddick, Marcus Young Jr., Marcel Young, and McKenzie Young, all of Suffolk.  He is a 2012 honor graduate of Kings Fork High School.
