SUFFOLK — Celista A. “Sonnie” Watson, 67, of the 1400 block of Pinto Court, entered into eternal rest at Sentara Obici Hospital on May 3, 2013. She was a native of Nansemond County and daughter of Claude Berry, of Suffolk, and the late Elsie Mae Watson Porter.

She attended East Suffolk High School. She retired from Planters Peanut Company after 27 years of service. She was a member of RAW Ministries.

Surviving to cherish precious memories are her father; son, Robert L. Watson; two sisters, Mable Baker and Faye McLaurin (Mario), of Suffolk; two brothers, Allen “Red” Watson (Margaret), of Suffolk,  and Russell Porter Jr., of Clarksville; devoted friend, Robert Lee Washington, of Suffolk; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host  of friends.

A homegoing service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at RAW Ministries, 801 E. Washington St., officiated by Pastor Robert Wilkins. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
