Thomas Joseph O’Connor IV, left us May 6, 2013. Thomas was born on June 18, 1976, in Suffolk. He will be loved and deeply missed by his parents, Tim and Helen Johnson, his father, Tommy O’Connor, his brothers, Jamie and Jett Johnson, his sister, Sadie O’Connor, and his living grandmothers, Alice O’Connor and Anna Johnson. Thomas will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as dear friends, the latter of which there are too many to count.

Thomas graduated from Nansemond-Suffolk Academy in 1994, before going on to study at James Madison University. Thomas came from a family with a long tradition of Scouting. He grew up in Troop 1, years later receiving his own Eagle Scout Award from Troop 30. Always the avid outdoorsman, Thomas lived and worked on the water on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and, most of all, spending time with his friends and family.

A celebration of life will be held at his home at the Boy Scout Amphitheater directly behind Johnson’s Gardens, 3201 Holland Road, Suffolk, on Thursday, May 9, at 11 a.m. Please wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. Family will receive friends following the service.
