Ernest Carol Weaver, 81, passed away May 9, 2013. He was born in Nansemond County, the son of the late Mary Jane Boyce Weaver and Joshua M. Weaver. He was predeceased by his sisters, Patty, Alice, Bessie and Margaret; brothers, Joe Buck, J.N. and Henry. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served his country during the Korean War. Ernest later went on to work for various places and own several businesses before retiring from VDOT as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. He was a hard working dedicated family man that was quick with a joke and always there to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Ernest is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Lou Taylor Weaver; daughter, Lisa Weaver Haynes; sons, Douglas T. Weaver and Kenneth J. Weaver; granddaughters, Chloe and Phoebe Weaver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Monday, May 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Garland Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
