Maggie B. Holland, 87, of 115 Church St., Suffolk, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at her residence. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Arthur Briggs and Rose Emma Briggs. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Brenda Ann Sharpe and Shelia Lassiter.

She attended Nansemond County Public Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Ella Holland and Patricia Holland, of Suffolk; one son, Wilbur Holland Jr., of Suffolk; 17 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elnora Holland, of Suffolk; brother-in-law, James T. Holland (Ethel), of Portsmouth. Fond memories of her will also be cherished by many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends, including a special friend, Wendy Gray and family.

A funeral will be held at noon, Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at First Baptist Church, 112 Mahan St., Suffolk, officiated by Dr. Steven G. Blunt. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
