Prophecies are coming true

Approximately 24 years ago, when King’s Kids of America Inc. began, the founder, the late Bishop Obadiah Colander, stated that it would take some 20 to 25 years before we would see real results from the nonprofit organization.

Just last month, more of this prophecy came true.

Six current and former participants in King’s Kids of America were recently baptized. Among them were: front row, from left, Dorian Powell, Peyton Ashburn and Corey Winborne; and back row, from left, Tiffany Holley and Devitta Brown.

We baptized two generations of King’s Kids ranging from 9 to 31 years old. As they get older, they’re going back to the training they received when they were younger and are now making wholesome decisions about their lives as adults.

We were also privileged two weeks ago to lead two more alumni King’s Kids to the Lord. They were married and have now made a decision to live their lives together in the Lord to be positive assets to society, which is the mission of King’s Kids of America.

Another alumni King’s Kid, Davita Brown, shared with us that learning the 23rd Psalm kept her out of a lot of trouble and helped her to go the right way as she was coming up. She’s now 31 and is a member of Heaven on Earth Ministries, where I am the pastor.

There are also other King’s Kids and their parents who are active members of the church.

So the prophet was right! Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. Suffer little children and forbid them not to come unto the Lord, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.

We thank God for such a wonderful man of God, the late Bishop Colander, who had a vision, to help the children in the city of Suffolk and around the world. His vision continues today through us and our supporters.

The alumni of King’s Kids are now assisting with the younger members, making a positive difference in the lives of others as someone did for them. We invite more alumni of King’s Kids and Disciples to join in and continue to take this vision to another level.

We thank all of our supporters for continuing to make King’s Kids of America a success.
