Amos C. Cross

Amos C. Cross, 60, of Suffolk, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was the son of the late Thomas Cross and Eleura Outland Cross and grandson of the late Lewis Cross, Willie Parker Cross, Raleigh Outland and Queen E. Eason Outland.

He was a member of the Missouri Baptist Church and the Missionary Lodge No. 2. Amos was employed at the Brick Yard, worked at Planters Peanut Company for 36 years and was a farmer.

Amos leaves to cherish his memory one son, Amos Jerome Cross; daughter-in-law, Chineta Cross; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Linda Edmond (Quinton), Vivian Copeland and Lindelle Copeland (Michael); two brothers, Thomas Cross (Phyllis), Amos Cross Sr. (Sharyn); two aunts, Louise Grant and Rose Lamb; four great-great-aunts, Martha Beamon, Bernice Wiggins (David), Ida Roundtree and Louise Jones (George); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Missouri Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Ronnie Boone. Interment will be in Carver Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
