Earl Pugh, 71, of Franklin died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
He was a native of Southampton County and the son of the late Joe Pugh and Ester Mae Suiter Pugh.
He was previously employed with Planters Peanut Company as a forklift driver. Mr. Pugh was an avid fisherman, loved working on cars, and had a kind word for everyone. Recently, Mr. Pugh gave his life to Christ, and the change was noticed by everyone that came in contact with him. He will truly be missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Catherine Pugh; three sons, Darryl Whitehead and Michael Whitehead of Baltimore, Md., and Howard Johnson (Margie) of Suffolk; two sisters, Edith Poe (George) and Virginia Bank of Suffolk; two brothers, Everette Pugh (Debbie) of Baltimore, Melvin Pugh (Beverly) of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren; one devoted friend, Joe Boone; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Crocker Funeral Home, 900 E. Washington St., officiated by Apostle Gerald Pope. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
