Beauty shop robbed

Suffolk police are investigating a Saturday morning armed robbery of a beauty supply shop in North Suffolk.

The incident at Sally’s Beauty Supply in the Harbour View East Shopping Center happened at 10:46 a.m.

The suspect brandished a black handgun before taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said in a press release. There were no injuries during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 215 pounds, with dark skin and shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was wearing a black T-shirt and sweatpants and fled the scene on foot.

Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers to Crime Line never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
