William “Kater” Morgan went to his heavenly home on Aug. 11, 2013. He was born in Gates County, N.C., and was preceded in death by his parents, Booker Thomas and Ruby Virginia Goodman Morgan; two sisters, Linda Roberts Brown and Ruby Hope Eason; two brothers, James Morgan and Booker T. Morgan Jr.

Mr. Morgan attended school in Gates, N.C. He retired from ILA Longshoreman Association, Local 1458 in Norfolk. He was a Mason, member of Local Lodge 432. One of his fondest hobbies was hunting.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Elizabeth William Morgan; six daughters, Felicia Cannon (Mike), Bonita Morgan, Sheila Morgan, Sylvia Melinda Pearson, Faith Freeman, Stephanie Morgan; one son, Tavaris Morgan; godson, Montoria Valentine; goddaughter, Angelica Scott; stepchildren, Angela Whitfield (Norman), Kashtico Mason, Tonya Dildy, William Skeeter (Vicky), Darold Skeeter; four sisters, Sarah Morgan, of Philadelphia, Pa., Beulah Gary (George), of Hampton, Francis Boone, of Corapeake, N.C., and Nina Saunders, of Norfolk; two brothers, George Brooks Morgan (Lenora), of Jamaica, N.Y. and Sanders Morgan (Shirley), of Suffolk; two brothers-in-law, James Eason and Kenneth Faltz (Victoria); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, Corapeake, N.C., officiated by the Rev. Soloman Norman. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
