Dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Inez Gaskill Vinson, age 89, of Suffolk (through 2005) and Mt. Pleasant, S.C. (2005-2013), passed away from natural causes Aug. 25, 2013.

She was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Harkers Island, N.C., to Louise Hancock Gaskill and Clem Manley Gaskill. Inez was preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 58 years and a brother, Creston Manley Gaskill.

Inez was a wonderful example of faith, hope and cheerfulness. She married George Riley Vinson Jr. in 1946. They made their home in Suffolk and raised three daughters. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Suffolk.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Vinson Balcome, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Pamela Vinson Huber and son-in-law Stephen Louis Huber, of Suffolk, and Susan Vinson Richardson and son-in-law Ervin George Richardson, of College Station, Texas; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Audrey Gaskill Parker.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W.
