Godwin Bridge lane closure set

Published 10:42pm Wednesday, September 18, 2013

Contractors working on resurfacing the Godwin Bridge on Route 17 will be closing one lane of the bridge from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

A press release from the city of Suffolk noted that the contractor will have a flagging operation in place, which will allow traffic in northbound and southbound lanes across the bridge at alternating times.

For more information on the project, call the Public Works Roadway Operations Division at 514-76700.

Could we possibly get a status update on whatever repairs are being done along with an estimated completion date? This project has been so drawn out with no explanation and seemingly no end in sight. Route 17 has caused so many delays over the past couple of years due to paving, bridge repairs, etc.
