Democrats put people firstPublished 9:12pm Wednesday, October 9, 2013
To the editor:
Confused by attack ads on television? Not sure whom to vote for in November for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general? Then consider the following.
Terry McAuliffe, Ralph Northam and Mark Herring are the Democratic Party candidates for those positions, and their agenda for action when elected will put people first, while their opponents will put ideology first.
These Democrats will work to help Virginians get jobs, affordable healthcare, improved roads, better schools, healthier air, cleaner water and tolerance for diversity.
The Republicans’ agenda is focused on restricting women’s choices, reducing funding for education, denying the need for environmental protection, limiting access to healthcare and intolerance for those who do not agree with their social agenda.
There is really nothing confusing about this vast difference in the two parties. Democrats put people first, and it has been four long years since Virginia’s highest level of government has been focused on what is best for its citizens.
