To the editor:

The Suffolk Police Officers’ Association, Local 780, is pleased to announce its enthusiastic endorsement of Raleigh Isaacs Sr. for the office of sheriff of the city of Suffolk in the Nov. 5 election.

Sheriff Isaacs has served effectively in the office of sheriff for many years. He has been a true supporter of all Suffolk police officers and law enforcement officers in general.

During his tenure as sheriff, he has demonstrated strong leadership and has capably managed the growth and effectiveness of the Suffolk Sheriff’s Office during the continuing expansion of the city.

Sheriff Isaacs has tapped the experience of retiring Suffolk police officers and has placed them in positions that make effective use of their years of law enforcement experience.

It is the opinion of the board and members of the Suffolk Police Officers Association that Sheriff Isaacs is truly the best and most qualified candidate to serve the citizens of our great city.

D.W. McLamb Jr.

  • So What

In todays world of politics discussion about term limits etc etc etc, Don’t You think its about time for change? He has been entrenched as a career public servant for over 50 years. Its no longer his job. Its become his cash cow with perks and given him a network of both social and political contacts like no other public servant, its time to stop sucking the air out of Suffolk taxpayers and move on to the private side of life and making a living.. MAY Jen Pond put an end to this public servant enterprise. VOAI VOAI should be the mantra in todays world of politics and starting at the local level is the best place to start so that a comfort level is not obtained and one becomes a parasite living off the host. voai being Vote out all incumbents.
