The third annual King’s Fork Tip-Off Showcase takes place Saturday beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the King’s Fork gym.

Bulldogs head coach Josh Worrell said spectators should come “to see a good brand of high school basketball all through the region.”

He said the event is designed both to put on a display of competitive basketball and to give teams an idea of where they stack up against regional competition.

Ten teams will be showcased, based out of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Suffolk and Virginia Beach.

For the first time, the event will also cater to fans of girls’ basketball with a showdown between the girls’ teams from Ocean Lakes High School and Bethel High School.

The Bulldogs will close out the event, taking on Lake Taylor High School. Worrell said the Titans play at a fast pace and like to do a lot of the same things King’s Fork does.

“It’ll be a good test,” he said. “They’ll be a physical, aggressive team.”

The price of admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children 11-and-under. The doors will open at 12:45 p.m.

Following is the schedule:

  • 1:30 p.m. Woodside High School vs. Tallwood High School
  • 3 p.m. Landstown High School vs. Great Bridge High School
  • 4:30 p.m. Girls: Ocean Lakes High School vs. Bethel High School
