Leola Boone, 72, of 609 Chisholm Lane, Suffolk, was transitioned to meet the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth. She was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of the late William and Sarah Hamlin Boone. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Boone.

She was educated in Suffolk Public Schools. She was employed at Ponds Peanut Company in Suffolk until her illness in 1992. She was a member of Angelical Christian Worship Center located in Portsmouth.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Sara Annette Knight, of Portsmouth; three sons, Rickey Boone (Tina), of Raleigh, N.C., Preston Boone, of Suffolk, Jeffery Boone (Vanessa), of Atlanta, Ga.; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a devoted niece, Evelyn Gibson; a family friend, Sugar Ray Baker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Greater Sweet Beulah Apostolic Church, officiated by Pastor Melvin A. Boone; Suffragan Bishop Madison Copeland is pastor. Interment will be in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
