Virginia Natural Gas has made a $30,000 donation to the EnergyShare program to help local folks in need pay their heating bills.

The prolonged winter weather has caused residents to use more energy to heat their homes compared to last year, according to a press release from Virginia Natural Gas. The increase will result in higher utility bills, which could be a hardship for struggling families.

On Thursday, Virginia Natural Gas representatives Robert Duvall, vice president of operations, and George Faatz, manager of legislative and community affairs, presented a $30,000 check to the EnergyShare program.

You can help your neighbors stay warm by donating to EnergyShare. Mail a check to EnergyShare, P.O. Box 91717, Richmond, VA 23291-9717.
