Dotolo to lead PDCCC ceremony

Paul D. Camp Community College will hold its annual 43rd commencement exercises at the Regional Workforce Development Center in Franklin on May 9.

More than 250 students will receive their degrees and certificates that evening.

Lawrence G. Dotolo, president of the Virginia Tidewater Consortium (VTC) for Higher Education, will be the keynote speaker.

Dotolo was honored with the Association for Consortium Leadership’s Pioneer Award in 2007 and the John F. Noftsinger Memorial Award in 2012 for his work in collaboration in higher education and has been involved in higher education access programs since 1979.

An advocate for the improvement of teaching and learning, he established the VTC for Higher Education’s Summer Institute on College Teaching. He also serves as the host of VTC’s “Inside Higher Education in Hampton Roads,” television program.

Dotolo is a professor of English at Old Dominion University. He earned a doctorate in American literature from Marquette University.
