A school bus carrying 51 students from Creekside Elementary School was involved in an accident on Harbour View Boulevard on Thursday about 4 p.m.

According to a news release from city spokeswoman Diana Klink, a Toyota RAV-4 merged to avoid striking a Lexus that made an improper lane change. The Toyota’s back right side struck the left front side of the school bus. The dark-colored Lexus, with dark-tinted windows and a blue license plate cover, fled the scene.

Four students complained of hitting either their heads or their knees on the seat, but only two were seen by rescue personnel, Klink wrote. Another school bus transported the remaining students home, and the parents of the two students seen by rescue personnel came to the scene and got them, school division spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw said.
