Prentis Percell King Jr., 64, of Suffolk, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at his home located at 322 Briggs St., Suffolk, following a long illness.

Prentis Percell King Jr. was born in Nansemond County. He attended John F. Kennedy High School in Suffolk.

He is survived by his wife, Vera Mae (Baker) King, of Suffolk; a brother, John (Linda) King, of Hampton; an uncle, John F. King, of Hackensack, N.J.; an aunt, Bettie Sue Scott, of Chesterfield; children, Levell (Teasha) King and Jennifer Rena King, of New York, N.Y., Tyneshra (Tony) Walden, of Hopewell, Shequan Wilson, of Suffolk, Edward (Angel) Wilson III, of Suffolk, Dameyon Wilson, of Suffolk, Larry Wilson, of Suffolk, and Shadana King, of Portsmouth; sisters-in-law are Alfreda (Ronnie) Mondrey, of Lynchburg, Cathy (Richard) Williams, of Suffolk, Lorrie King, of Suffolk; brothers-in-l are James (Doris) Elliot, of Lynchburg, Carlton (Pamela) Baker, of Suffolk. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.

Viewing of Prentis P. King Jr. will be held at Harris Funeral Home, 685 Carolina Road, Suffolk, (539-6500) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Faith Temple Apostolic Church, 476 Wellons St., Suffolk, VA 23434. The interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.
