FRANKLIN — Linda Lee Lassiter White, 74, passed away July 13, 2014.

A native of Portsmouth, she is predeceased by her husband, David Allen White, and a sister, Susan Grimes.

Linda was a retired Ocean Villas property manager in Nags Head and a former owner of Poplar Hill Florist. In later life, her greatest joy was as a caregiver for the elderly. She was a long time member of Southside Baptist Church in Suffolk and a current member of Holy Neck Christian Church in Suffolk.

Survivors include a daughter, Lori L. Gibbs, of Kill Devil Hills; son, Denton A. Gibbs III, of Suffolk; stepson, Thomas A. White and wife, Janice, of Suffolk; sister, Carolyn L. Harrell, of Portsmouth; grandson, Travis Allen White; adopted granddaughter, Susan Skelton; nieces, Julie Kurtz and Paula Powell; nephews, Russell Grimes and Thomas Grimes; extended family, Bobby Strother and family; and special friend, Virginia White.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, at 11 a.m. in Holy Neck Christian Church by Pastor Drew Mountcastle. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
